郵便局（ゆうびんきょく）の車（くるま）が使（つか）えなくなります

Japan Post Can’t Use Its Trucks Anymore

2025年6月25日、国土交通省（こくどこうつうしょう）は、日本郵便（にほんゆうびん）に対（たい）して、大切（たいせつ）な決（き）まりを破（やぶ）ったとして、約（やく）2,500台（だい）のトラックやバンを使（つか）う仕事（しごと）の許可（きょか）を取り消（とりけ）しました。
On June 25, 2025, the Ministry of Land and Transport took away Japan Post’s permission to use about 2,500 trucks and vans. This happened because the company broke important rules.

これは、配達（はいたつ）をする人（ひと）に、お酒（さけ）を飲（の）んでいないかなどを確認（かくにん）する点呼（てんこ）を行（おこな）っていなかったためです。さらに、うその点呼（てんこ）の記録（きろく）を作（つく）ったことも分（わ）かりました。
Japan Post did not check if drivers were safe, like if they had been drinking alcohol.
They also made false records of these safety checks.

このため、日本郵便（にほんゆうびん）は、これから5年間（ねんかん）、トラックやバンを使（つか）って配達（はいたつ）することができません。
Because of this, Japan Post can’t use trucks or vans for delivery for 5 years.

そのかわりに、軽自動車（けいじどうしゃ）やバイク、または別（べつ）の配達会社（はいたつがいしゃ）を使（つか）って、ふつうどおりサービスをつづけられるように努力（どりょく）すると言（い）っています。
They said they will try to keep deliveries going by using small cars, bikes, or other delivery companies.
